Moray Firth Community Interest Links

Community Councils
The Moray Firth area (the coastal area between Duncansby Head by John O'Groats and Kinnaird Head at Fraserburgh) is represented by three local authorities:- Highland, Moray and Aberdeenshire.    Each local authority area has a number of Community Councils, which are effectively voluntary groups, but with elected members.  The Community Council's function is to act as a voice for their local area, and to carry out a range of activities to promote the interests and amenities of the  community.  This can include commenting on planning or other applications, carrying out surveys, arranging events, taking action on local issues, and so on.  The links below will take you to information about the community councils in your area.

MFP Community Web Site Hosting
The Partnership used to offer web space to community groups who wished to set up their own websites.  This service was provided free of charge and had initial good take up from groups including the Highland Nordic Walkers, The Highland Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers, the Ferintosh Environmental Group and Ferintosh Community Council.  As the groups gained confidence they began to establish their own web sites.  The last group to leave us will be Ferintosh who are in the process of setting up a stand alone site for the Community Council and the Environmental Group.  Until the new Ferintosh site goes live we will continue to host the pages here and provide a permanent future sign post.  Ferintosh Community Council Index
