Fish like blennies eat small marine creatures, and are especially clever at nipping off the feeding arms of barnacles, which emerge from between their protective plates.

On hot days blennies can leave the water to escape the lack of oxygen in the pools. They can sometimes be heard "plopping" back into the water as you walk along rocky shores in the summer.
