Dolphin Space Programme Shortlisted for RSPB Award!
The Dolphin Space Programme has been shortlisted for the RSPB's Nature of Scotland Awards in the Marine category! The The Moray Firth Partnership has been helping to administer the programme since February 2011, when the initial project funding and DSP Project Officer post finished.
In November, RSPB Scotland was excited to announce their shortlist for the inaugural Nature of Scotland Awards. The awards celebrate excellence, innovation and outstanding achievement in Scottish nature conservation.
The shortlist demonstrates exceptional achievements from a variety of areas including charities, the public and private sectors and individuals. They have worked hard to overcome challenges and threats to preserve Scotland's natural heritage, habitats and species. This year, an amazing 86 entries were received, across six categories.
The shortlist for the Marine Award includes:
-Dolphin Space Programme, nominated by the Moray Firth Partnership
-Scottish Conservation Credits Scheme (SCCS), nominated by WWF Scotland
-SSMO Marine Spatial Management Plan, nominated by Shetland Shellfish Management Organisation
-The Green Blue Scotland, nominated by Scottish Boating Alliance
-The Loch Ryan Oyster Fishery Co Ltd (Ostrea edulis), nominated by the Loch Ryan Oyster Fishery Co Ltd
The winners from each category will be announced at a special black tie award ceremony at the prestigious Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh on 1 March, 2012. This will be a memorable event and a great opportunity for anyone who is passionate about Scottish nature conservation.
