Report of meeting

Minutes of the meeting held at 7pm on 11 June 2008 in Ferintosh Hall

1 Attendance: Ellen Garvie, David O’Brien, Sheila Maher, Roger Piercy, Graham Sullivan & Martin Hind (HC Countryside Ranger)
2 Apologies: Joan More, Alasdair Cameron
3 Matters arising from previous meeting;
· Nature Diary: Ellen gave us her hand written note of her observations of Spring 2008. Sheila agreed to get it typed up in preparation for inclusion in the book that it had been agreed to purchase at the May meeting.
4 Projects
i) Footpath: Sheila and Graham updated the meeting about their walk along the Corntown/Conon Bridge route with Alasdair Cameron and circulated maps and photographs which indicated areas where work needed to be done. Sheila had a useful conversation with Phil Waite, HC Access Officer for our area and had agreed to arrange for Alasdair to show Phil the proposed footpath and the work that needed to be done.
ii) Bees; Roger requested that activities are put on hold in the meantime. He also announced that the beekeepers would have a stall at the Black Isle Show.
iii) Amphibians: David O’Brien agreed to hold a workshop in Ferintosh in Spring 2009.
iv) Agency activities: Martin reported on current LBAP activities and how FEG might get involved in these. He donated 5 wildlife books to the group. Sheila agreed to catalogue these and make them available in the community.
v) Bottle tops/art: No report
vi) Fungi Walk: Agreed for 21 September 2008. Details are to be finalised.
5 Organisational Issues
i) Reporting to/reports from Ferintosh Community Council: Roger agreed to report back from this meeting.
ii) Dates, venues: It was agreed to continue with monthly meetings over the summer. Sheila will book Ferintosh Hall, Easter Kinkell for the second Wednesday of July, August and September.
6 Member information of up and coming events: It was agreed to produce an events diary
7 Date and time of next meeting: 9 July 2008, 7pm.
