Wick Society gets Project Support Boost

Following the recently issued Community Grant Scheme Awards press release, an article appeared in the John O'Groat local paper about the funding going towards renovating the old boat shed at Wick.

As a result, the Wick project was offered a week's free labour from a group of 16 out of work youngsters, organised by a local company called ILM (Independent Labour Market). The young people all worked extremely hard and have pared months off the scheduled works programme with local volunteer labour. Malcolm Bremner, the Wick Harbour Master, who helped organise this, is also trying to help a couple of the young people get employment.

It's heartening to get such positive feedback!
